Open Air Museum

Discover old farmhouses, marvel at the simple but varied life of days gone by and enjoy the charming landscape at the foot of the legendary Untersberg mountain. A museum site of over 120 acres is now home to 100 original historic structures from the worlds of agriculture, crafts, commerce and industry. A network of idyllic footpaths links a rural history going back over 600 years.
The historic narrow gauge railway is the big attraction in the open air museum. A 1.7km (1 mile) track with three stations guarantees a pleasant and scenic journey through much of the landscape, and: the trip on the railway is included in the entrance price!
