LANDMARK OF GROSSGMAIN
Ancestral castle of the Counts of Plain and landmark of Großgmain - is one of the oldest castle ruins in Austria and offers a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains.
Of the original complex, only the outer walls, which are over 5 meters high and on average 1.45 meters thick, the inner courtyard and the entrance area with the gatehouse have been preserved. In the courtyard of the castle there is one of the deepest fountains in Austria.
The Plainburg is open during the summer months (May to August) and can be visited by visitors.
